Things are good

Sorry for no update, its been a busy week trying to adjust to our new schedule of going to the NICU, pumping, readjusting to being at home, etc. I thought I would make it up with a few pics for the past few days.

Both babies are doing really well, Elijah was even moved to an open air crib today and no longer has the nasal canula. Hazel's been on the nasal canula for a few days and is doing really well with it. They are both getting more at feeding time and we hope they will try with a bottle or on the breast soon. Having them in the NICU and not at home is really difficult, and I wake more nights in tears sometime around 3am, I think that is when my body tells me its time to feed babies:( So, I pump (which is okay, I'll post more about it later), which is no substitution for babies.

Thanks for the update! They look really good.
Moving to an open air crib is a big deal! One piece of advice, don't get discouraged with their feedings. It seemed like we took one step forward and then 2 back sometimes. Just focus on getting those feeding tubes out and it will happen. DH and I were laughing the other day how we used to get so excited the twins ate 15 cc's! Now, they are eating 6 ounces!
Traveling back and forth to the NICU can get tiring (especially if you live a distance away). I used to feel guilty for not spending more time there (even though we'd go twice/day and spend 3-4 hours each visit). Pumping helped me feel more connected and I was always so proud to be able to take my milk to them each day.
You are doing great and they will be home before you know it (and then the real fun begins)!
