The babies are still cooking, but the bad contractions have come back. I get meds every four hours and for the past two days about a half an hour before my dose the bad contractions come. It is pretty scary and there is not much they can do about it. I am at the highest dose and take it as frequently as possible.
This morning was particularly bad. The contractions woke me up and got stronger for about 45 mins before my meds were due and even continued for about 30 mins after the dose. I can't imagine that more than an hour of strong contractions isn't doing anything to my cervix:(
I talked to my OB about it this morning and he basically said it will continue and we will just try to buy more time.
We had another consult with one of the neonatologists (NICU dr) yesterday. He was much more optimistic than the last one and pretty much said we are out of the woods for long term effects from prematurity (of course unless something unforeseen happens). He even said that if the babies come now he thinks they would only stay for 4-6 weeks in the NICU. Which of course is 4-6 weeks more than I would like, but sounds a lot better than the 8-10 we've been told.
Hopefully you guys will have at least another full week of boring blog posts from me and no birth announcements:)

Cook Babies, COOK!
Woo hoo for boring posts!!!!
(P.S. they're not really boring)
Keep on bakin', babies! Just a few more weeks! I'm thinking of you all!
Thinking of you and hoping for some further cooking time for the babies.
Keep the boring blog posts coming!! And, keep those babies cooking!!
Come on for a few more weeks!!! Our twins were born at 27w5d and spent 64 and 69 days, respectively, in the NICU. We were told we were the best case scenario in our hospital, so I hope that you turn out to be the best case scenario in yours!
yuck! you're doing great, though. it just sucks not knowing what will happen and being in the dark. you sound like you're in great hands. i'm so hopeful that the babies will continue to stay snuggled inside!
(my word verification for this post is "baking"...maybe it's a sign??)
