Day 19

Today is day 19 of hospital bedrest and really hoping to make it to day 23. The contractions have been getting worse day by day and I am really getting to the limit with the nifedipine. They've given me doses early this week and have even given me an extra half dose.

Tonight they were really bad, almost as strong as when I was admitted. No more bleeding, which is great, and the meds do calm them down eventually.

In addition to the increased contractions, my aunt called today to tell me that they are expecting that my grandma only has a few weeks left. We knew she was not doing well but really did not anticipate this. Most of my family from out west in going to be coming on Thursday, including one of my sisters who I haven't seen in a few years (the one whose daughter we had custody for a few years back). My dr did give me the okay to leave the hospital for an afternoon to go visit my grandma, who is in the hospital about an hour away. I think that if we make it that far, and things are okay, we are going to go on Saturday.

So, in honor of my dear grandma, here is one of my fav pics of her from our wedding, and one of the two of us. This tiny little woman has 5 children (and suffered through a late miscarriage), 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren with another 3 on the way. It's amazing what one person can produce:)

I'm praying those two stay put so you are able to visit your grandmother!

You are doing great! Not much longer now! My twins came at 32 1/2 weeks and only spent 2 weeks in the NICU so don't get discouraged.
I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I hope you have a nice visit with her this weekend.
