For the last IVF I decided not to do acupuncture b/c of my immense fear of needles. Fear? No more. I can take a shot like a champ. Which is good, b/c they start on Sunday!
This time around I decided to look into acupuncture and found an office only 2 blocks from our house. I made an appointment for a consult, it is next week Tuesday. Their website says they like to work with fertility patients for three months before a treatment cycle, too bad. I have 4 weeks. Hopefully the few appointments will be better than nothing. I've done some reading and even just doing it the day of ER and day of ET help.
Yesterday I met up with one of the most generous people I have ever met (yes, you Erin!) and she donated almost all of the meds we need for this cycle. An entire shoebox full! (lol, I stopped at a friends house afterward and she was sad that I didn't actually get her shoes. nope. just need the fridge for a bit) It was great meeting her, and I wish her a very healthy and happy pregnancy:)
And on Sunday I am meeting another of the most generous people I know (Katie!) who is donating the remainder of our meds. I cannot believe it. All of our meds. I am constantly amazed at this wonderful community we have:)
This cycle is already starting off a thousand times better. I feel so much more grounded, and relaxed (don't worry, I won't get pg b/c I 'relaxed'!) about the process.

You will have to let me know how the accupuncture goes, I am considering doing that too. We are hopefully doing IUI in July. madhenmom@gmail.com
Wow, that's so exciting!
I've been doing acupuncture about twice a month since January and, while I don't know if it's really doing much, I certainly appreciate having 45 minutes in the middle of the day to do nothing but listen to music and relax.
Good luck!

god luck with the acu and that is so nice of them to give you meds!
That is so awesome. I can't wait until I can donate some meds!!!
You sound much better and more relaxed and I am glad that you feel it too. I have my fingers crossed for you. x
i did tons of acupuncture for the first cycle...bfn. my second i switched it up, went to a different lady. she said that whatever you could do would be helpful. i did a total of 5 apts. 4 before transfer and one after. the apts were actually shorter, but the place was so much nicer, really helped me to feel relaxed and actually enjoy the process.
...what does all of this mean? if you still feel weird about the acupuncture when you are there, scrap it. it's not worth the money :)
so glad to hear about the meds!! that's such great news!!!
Good luck with the acupuncture! It definitely is hard to justify the money for that in the midst of everything else, but I'm a firm believer in it. Just last week, I got my first natural period (ever!), after 6 months of acu. And it definitely is some nice relaxation time...enjoy it!
i did acupuncture during our iui cycles and loved it, but it got too expensive. i hope you enjoy!
donated meds? that is WONDERFUL news!
