Sleepy

Just b/c it is my goal to post daily, here is my very sleepy post for the day, which will be ending very soon.....

At my therapy appointment today we talked about my needle phobia and my blood work tomorrow. We did a visualization exercise and talked about deep breathing. We also talked about how much vallum helps:) So, since I signed a waiver to let my therapist talk with my RE's office, she called and told them about my fears. An hour or two later our nurse called and offered to have me come in early tomorrow and take some vallum before my blood draw:) Ahhhhh -that is my sigh of relief. And hopefully b/c I will be a bit more relaxed they can find a good spot that will also work in the future.

In addition to therapy today I also had the good old pelvic exam by my regular doctor. My pap was out of date so I had to go in before we could more forward with IVF. And let me tell you that as much as I appreciated the more comfortable speculum and the more sensitive approach by the doctor when working around down there -good lord she could have been quicker. I guess I am just way to accustom to the efficiency of a fertility clinic, but after 5 or so minutes and her giving me the play-by-play before doing anything I was ready to do it my damn self. For pete's sake it was only a pap smear! I wasn't an IUI, it wasn't an ER or ET, why the hell did it have to take so freaking long! Swipe and remove.

Okay, now it's time for bed, I need my sleep as tomorrow promises to be just as invasive. A physical exam for the girly-bits, an internal ultrasound, and 6 vials of blood. Wish me luck.

Will be thinking of you today! Sounds like you have an awesome, supportive team in place. Hope it goes well.

Hi, I'm a new reader, and I hope your blood draw goes (or went) well. Will you have to do a lot of injections for IVF? I'm also freaked out about doing my first HCG injection next week - I have needle phobia, too.

Good luck!

Your story of the pap is hilarious. I'm so used to the RE's office now....where they can insert a speculum w/o even really looking.

I can't imagine going back to the regular doc...

I'm so happy that you get something for relaxation!
