While dealing with IF I have heard 'everything happens for a reason' way too frequently and I find it really annoying. If that statement were in fact true, can you tell me why teenagers and drug addicts have children that they can't take care of or abuse, and I can't?
I seriously want to ask the next person who says it to me why they think we can't have kids. What is it that we are supposed to be learning? Heartbreak? Because lord knows I know that already. Patience? Doesn't making the right choices and waiting until we were ready show that we were patient?
While we are on this subject, the next person who tells me that 'you will have the child you were meant to have, even if it isn't yours biologically' will get slapped. I mean it! Slapped across the face and then thrown into a wall. Watch out!

OMG... someone has the nerves to say that (the even if it's not your biological child part)??? That is just plain mean! I totally agree... slapping should send the message clean and clear
yeah! and the next person that tells me i will get pregnant as soon as i stop trying gets slapped across the face!
LOL...the next person who says that I will get pregnant as soon as I adopt gets slapped too! I like this list of people who are getting slapped....
i have that saying too. i always have. i know i am meant to be a mother, so why is it proving to be so hard? ugh!

When you are finished slapping them, I'll be right behind you giving them a beat-down of my own. I hate those intended-to-make-you-feel-better-but-they-do-just-the-opposite phrases.

Man, I *hate* it when people say that crap. The latest thing I keep hearing (besides "you will get pregnant when you adopt") is how much our lives will change once we have a baby and how much work they are... as if it is a bad thing.
I would like to smack the next person who reminds me I am not getting any younger. Then I'd like to smack em again.
I stopped believing in "the everything happens for a reason" mentality a long time ago. I also get the as soon as you stop you will end up pregnant line also way too much. I never though of slapping them but that may stop them more than dirty look that I usually give does.

UGH! I hate that shit! Someone told me the other day I should try "alternative" treatment. Uh, I'm 45. Going organic or other such crap isn't going to cut it.

You KNOW how I feel about these comments... ;) What is WRONG with people!?!! I love how people can be so easy going with IF, but you know they wouldn't dare so something like that to, say, a cancer patient or something! Not that we're dying and this is any more serious, but it's all a MEDICAL condition. I'm not sure what people don't get about that.
