I realized that when I posted about the Bris/Baby Naming I never actually posted the names we chose.
Elijah -Asher (meaning happy or blessed) Doron (meaning gift)
Hazel -Ashra (feminine form of Asher) Bracha (meaning blessing/gift)
Since they are twins we wanted them to have the 'same' name, meaning their first name is the same but in masculine/feminine forms and along with their second name they overall have the same meaning -a happy/blessed gift.
We chose their name based on a few things, the meaning, and the letters of the names in relation to some of our family members who have passed away.
Blessed Gift- the twins were born on the day that my dear grandmother passed away. It was a really hard day for everyone in my family and they saw the birth of these two to be a gift from my grandma that everything will be okay. Also, after everything Greg and I went through over the past few years these two are without a doubt a blessed gift to us.
Initials -the 'A' comes from my grandma (who passed away), her name was Audrey, it also represents G's grandfather, Albert. The 'D' is for my father's father, Donald, and the 'B' is for our grandmothers Beryl and Betty.
So, when we use their Hebrew names we will be reminded of those who came before them, and what gifts they are to all of us.
