The Pill

Yes, I am on it. The 'mini' pill. At my postpartum appointment my OB asked about birth control. He even joked that while it took us nearly 3 yrs, multiple treatments and tens of thousands of dollars to get pg that it would just be my luck to get KUed within a few months of having these two. And honestly I've thought the same thing....and it scares the crap out of me!

If we decide to have any more kids I would LOVE to be that person with the surprise BFP, no treatments needed, no more money, just like normal people:) But there is no way I want that to happen anytime soon. And since our problem lies with crappy sperm and like the saying goes 'it only takes one'- the pill it is.

It is so strange to be using any form of contraception. Our lives have only been about getting pregnant for YEARS now. And here we sit, with two babies and Greg reminding me to take my pill with an almost nervous tone in his voice.

Don't get me wrong, we love our babies, but after my hellish pregnancy and NICU time I think we need to just enjoy them, and only them, for awhile:)

i went through the same thing and finally decided on an IUD. it feels so strange to choose some form of contraception after all of the work trying to get pregnant.

i almost decided to go without anything.

...then i tried to imagine life with two little ones, being pregnant on bedrest again. :( i'll take the contraception for awhile!

My good buddy tried for 10 years (you name it, they did it, and had just about decided to live child free) to have her little girl. When her daughter was 5 months old, she went to see the doctor because she was feeling crappy, and lo and behold... preggers. Her second daughter was born the day before the first daughter's first birthday. Of course they were happy, but wow...stressful and exhausting! Take those pills... those "urban myths" are out there!

I'm right there with you... I'll be on the "pill" after Monday. It just doesn't seem right after all we did to get to the opposite end result this time, but deep down, I know that it's what is best for my babies- I can't leave anything up to chance in that dept.!
