OMFG, seriously?

Seriously? Is there any pregnancy related complication that I won't get? I am so done with this body, done with this never-ending saga of problems.

About an hour after I posted last night I woke up in extreme pain under my right rib. It was so terrible I could not breathe and was very nauseous. It was kind of like kidney stone pain, just in a different spot. I tried to convince Greg it was just gas or something b/c I didn't want to disrupt our first night home with Hazel. But after a half an hour or so he decided we were going to the ER.

Greg dropped me off b/c we didn't want Hazel exposed to anything. I saw the dr fairly quickly b/c I was nearly crying in pain. After some questions and an ultra sound turns out I have gallbladder disease and need to meet with a surgeon on Monday to decide if it needs to be removed now or later. I have learned that this is a fairly common issue after pregnancy and surgery (c-sections), and of course if anything can go wrong with me, it will.

I got all of 2 hrs of sleep last night, but Hazel did really well. She is a good sleeper and only fusses when she needs something. She is really good at self-soothing by sucking on her fingers and hasn't really cried too much yet. I am sure that will change:)

So, unfortunately our first day home with the little one will not be filled with visitors and fun, it will be filled with calling drs and trying to sleep. Oh, and we learned that even if we move Eli to the pediatric unit Hazel still can't come, so he is staying in the NICU until he is ready to come home, which will hopefully be in about a week, if not less.

Oh no! How scary. My gallbladder is gone, so I don't have much to add, I had stones. Hopefully they resolve it quickly and you recover quickly so you can spend lots of quality time with your little angels. So glad Hazel is home and that you are okay.

Oh Andrea - you have had such a difficult time. I feel for you. Hang in there. It has to get easier.

I am so sorry to hear about the gallbladder. I completely feel your pain on this one... I started getting attacks when I was 17 weeks pregnant. They were so severe that surgery while pregnant was the decision (the risk of the stones escaping and causing more serious conditions requiring a riskier surgery later on were really high). Good times. Thankfully, my little man was just fine, and seriously, once the damn gallbladder was gone, I had not one problem (except for the post-op gas, but A. You are used to that by now, and B. mine may have been worsened by the baby taking up a bunch of room). You deserve to be home loving on your little ones, not dealing with this, but hopefully they can get it done before you have TWO of them at home. Those attacks are HORRIBLE and only get worse, so surgery is a decent option. I will be praying for you all!!

I had to remove my gallbladder after pregnancy as well. It sucks , but surgery was simple and fast recovery. Be careful with what you eat, this way you can be pain free. HUGS

I am so sorry! My girlfriend asked if I had a checklist of issues... I had cellulitis after my c-section and then mastitis which made it impossible bf our twins. Praying you get this resolved and have no more issues.
