Sorry for the lack of posts, we are still trying to figure out a schedule (ha! like you can have one of those with two newborns!) and the first thing to go has been my blogging time.
My MIL, whose first children were twins, made a comment the other day how she felt like the first few months after her twins were born that she felt like a slave to the babies. My response to DH about the comment was 'I'd happily be a slave forever'. Though, not to gloss it over, she is right. That is pretty much what we have become. So, let's look at what our nights have been like...the next time I get a chance we can look at our days:)
Depending on when they had their last feeding (let's say its 9:30), we usually get ready for bed around 10pm. Babies get changed, swaddled, rocked, and into their crib they go. One last pumping session for me, which is 45 mins of snacking and using the interwebs, Greg preps bottles and heads to sleep. After pumping I clean up a bit and head to bed around 12am. There are the typical random cries for pacis, a clean diaper, or little Mister crying b/c his tummy hurts while trying to poop. By 1am they are ready to eat again. I change and Greg gets bottles. We each take a baby and hopefully within 30 mins we have them fed, changed, swaddled and ready to get put back to sleep. By 4:30am another feeding, 5am back to sleep. 8am another feeding. Greg gets up for the day (though he doesn't go back to work til next week), and me and the babies go back to sleep for a bit, me an hour or two, them till 11:30 for next feeding.
Okay, pumping is done and babies are crying. I'll post about our days soon:)

it gets better. i remember in the beginning feeling like i didn't know the difference b/t night and day that it was all the same.... now there's a difference. NO PLAYING at night :)
...i'd be a slave forever, too!
xx
Oh how I remember those days (or think I do...it was pretty fog-filled). (((hugs))) being a slave to your babies - so true. What they need, is what you do. But it does get easier, especially after 3 months. Don't forget to take tons of pictures of your cuties - they grow up WAY too fast!
It gets better. Bobby and Maya slept through the night by 3 months and, sometimes, I miss our special midnight feeds.
Keep posting about life with two... it is helping me prepare for what's in store!
On the positive side, it's great they are going 3.5 hours between feedings. Ella was every 2 hours until a few weeks ago around 10 weeks (though she'd go longer at night). At 13 weeks she still eats every 3 hours.. (but she is ALMOST sleeping through the night with a 2am feeding now and then). Keep it up- sounds like you are doing GREAT! So happy for you guys.
