Last week I noticed a very startling pregnancy symptom. Warning that this might be too much information (TMI) for some of you.....but, in the off chance that someone out there has this and can tell me how to feel better, I am so willing to share my humiliating experience with the blog world:)
Apparently when you get to be a certain size during pregnancy the added pressure of your uterus can cause varicose veins. But not just in your legs like one would think. In your labia! I kid you not. And let me tell you, they are quite painful, and huge, like my ladies parts are unrecognizable. I seriously freaked out thinking there was something very wrong with me. Good thing I had an OB appointment the next day and I very sheepishly ask my nurse what in the hell could be wrong, she laughed a bit and was like 'oh, those are just varicose veins, they go away after the baby(ies) come'. Then the worst news, there is nothing you can do about it!
I've tried icing my crotch, hot baths, witch hazel, tight clothes, loose clothes, wearing a maxi pad (read somewhere that it helps), nada. I can't even imagine what I look like when I walk, and when I sit I readjust myself like a baseball player.
The joys of pregnancy:) These two are gonna owe me, big time!

welcome... ;)
OMG! I don't even know what to say. Thanks for the info- I hope they go away soon:)
Oh (((hugs))) I didn't have them that bad, but I do remember thinking that I should not have that kind of pain or be so swollen down there.
Hopefully you'll find something to ease the pain soon enough. Those two certainly are giving you an interesting time before they are born.
Hang in there!
I've seem 'em, and they aren't pretty. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. As an aside, there is some sort of "sling" to deal with this thing. I forget the name though. Hope it eases soon! Best wishes!
Owie!! I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! Hopefully it doesn't get any worse then what it is now. Those little turkeys better behave! :)
