Not much new

Things have been good the past few days. Everything seems stable, which is great news. Our next goal of making it to 2010 seems like it just may be met! Though, with everything going so well my cabin fever is a bit worse since I feel just fine, but I still have to be here.

Unfortunately the dog visit didn't work out. We had lots of visitors (we have such great friends!) that kept us busy all weekend and it was really cold outside so I didn't want to have the dogs out in the cold. They are too small:( But, it looks like we were wrong on the dogs' vaccines, Fiona is up to date, but Duncan is not. So, Duncan is off to get shots tomorrow with the hope that they both can come visit on Friday when Greg is off of work. That would be the best New Year's gift.

I finally filed my disability claim for work and have begun the official leave paperwork. I'd been putting that paperwork off for weeks thinking I still had time. That and packing my hospital bag. Looks like I shouldn't have been such a procrastinator:)

On a final note I have some advice for anyone on bed rest, or in case you happen to find yourself on bed rest....did you know that you can tell the nurses that you don't want the med students bugging you? And that you can say you don't want to be woken up at night for anything besides meds? One of the nurses here, who is just great, has informed me of these things. I am finally getting sleep at night and it is great. Much more comfortable than my first week of being up every 2 hrs and having a dozen people in and out all day long. I no longer feel like I am on display:)

I'm glad you're doing so well, besides getting a little stir crazy, of course. I so hope your puppies can visit soon! Sounds like you found a great nurse! I will remember that advice if I end up in the hospital one day!

Wonderful news!

Isn't it liberating to realize that you can control a few things even though you're strapped to that bed?! So glad for your newfound knowledge, and thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!
