I have been exposed! But, its been more than a week, and I am fine. However, my OB still wants me to take a round of Tamiflu, just in case. I start it today. The only thing I am worried about is that the main side effect is nausea and vomiting. Typical, hey? It is really almost laughable.
This weekend we had our second birthing class, next week will be the final one. It is a special class for multiples and has been good so far. It is nice to have everyone on the same page and I can ask stupid questions without feeling too badly:) We have gone over the signs of preterm labor a bunch and talked a lot about breastfeeding and nutrition. The instructor is a nurse/doula and she gives a good mix of the medical and the natural side. She isn't too pushy either way and fits really well with our views on childbirth, breastfeeding, etc. She has twins herself and is not embarrassed to tell us the details of her expereince and to make fun of herself and her mistakes.
And finally, we spent all day Saturday babysitting our 4 month old niece. She was so easy! Slept, ate, played, barely cried. I left feeling like I can totally do this, even with two:) I know in reality it will be really rough the first months, and every child is different, etc. but I want to keep the memory from this weekend in my head until I am hit with the reality. Ignorance is bliss, no? :)

Good they are being proactive with the Tamiflu. H1N1 is definitely not something a preg woman needs to mess with. I really hope you don't have to deal with the side effects! All the best!
Better to be safe than sorry with the H1N1, that's for sure. You were smart to call. I hope you have no nausea from the Tamiflu, that's the last thing you need!
Glad the birthing class was helpful, we start ours in a week. It's not one for multiples, but I think it will be helpful for the basics at least :)
I don't think they have conclusive data about the safety of Tamiflu on pregnancy, but H1N1 apparently can be quite fatal for pregnant women. It sounds like you don't have much of a choice! Perhaps nausea is a small price to pay, even though it is laughable! It might be wise not to vomit and laugh at the same time though! ;-)
You sound like you have a great birthing class instructor. It helps that she has similar experiences to share with you about twins. As for your niece, other people's children are always such a delight, especially when you can give them back! LOL! But I am sure you can totally do it too. IF women have a different perspective on "difficulties". We appreciate what other people take for granted. And all we've been through makes us stronger! Good luck with the nausea - again!
I'm so glad you're ok! And that you had such a good time with your sweet little niece!
Glad to hear the class is so useful and suited to your specific needs. Do you plan to deliver yourself if possible or has your OB talked to you about a planned C- section?
I hope I'm not being nosey, I'm just curious.
