It begins

I am already being hassled at work about what they are calling 'my situation'. Yes, apparently being knocked-up after years of trying will be given a term that I would usually use to describe someone who is pg at 15 or getting charged with some kind of criminal offense - the 'situation'.

I have loads of sick and vacation time saved up, enough for a typical maternity leave, but with twins I am sure I will need more, in that case I am legally entitled to 12 weeks unpaid leave. Since Greg has still to find a job I am not sure how much of the unpaid leave I am going to feasibly be able to take. But I have it, it is my right.

So the attitude about me being gone for possibly 26 weeks (woot!) is not going over well. But it is my right, I have the time and I can use it if I want to. I have never taken more than a 2 week vacation, and those were few and far between. My coworkers take at least two 2 week vacations a year. So they can all kiss my fat pregnant ass:)

Geeze oh pete! 26 weeks? I know you're not a nurse; they'd never let us have off that long without firing us.

I'm so sorry you're being hassled about this. I'm terrified to tell my work for this very reason! Thank goodness for your sick/ vacation time, though (although I totally get why you want to take more than that!) - we don't have any paid time off at all, and it's terrifying to think of going so long without a paycheck. ((Hugs))!

26 weeks is awesome! Ignore them... they'll be easier to ignore when you aren't there for 26 weeks!
