Not just morning sickness

Apparently the sick that I have is not just your typical morning sickness. And here I thought I was just being a wuss and couldn't handle it. Nope, its this -hyperemesis gravidarum.

Yeah, its awful. I spent all day hooked up to an IV so they could pump me full of fluids. Then I got yelled at about how I should have called/come in much sooner. And if I am not keeping anything down for more than 24 hours I need to get my ass back there for more fluids. I will do so happily as I feel sooooo much better. I even got off the couch, did some stuff around the house, and ate. Yes, I finally ate food. For the first time without puking since last week. Awesome.

We got to see the babies again today, they wanted to be sure everything was okay. And it was. They forgot to give us a photo, but damn were they cute! You could see the arms and legs already, and they were wiggling! Adorable.

This means unless I need more fluids in the next few weeks, I only have one more appointment at our RE's office. Makes me kind of sad. They are all so nice and caring. I hope I can find an OB that I am comfortable with. I guess the hunt starts soon.

Ewwwwwww...no wonder you were feeling like crap! Go in as often as you need, I've heard of that stuff kicking ass. Ugh.

So glad you got to see the little ones! Eeek!! Little arms & legs! :)

Hang in there...it WILL be worth it.

it is a little shocking to go from the RE to the OB where everyone just kind of takes pregnancy for granted...

HOLY CRAP! Yet, another side effect of IF challenges- our feelings of guilt if we complain against anything related to an actual pregnancy cause us to forgo needed medical treatment! I'm so glad you finally sought help and I really really hope you continue to feel better. So happy to hear about the babies-- it's so exciting!
How you've been working through this is beyond me. Seems like this is when disability coverage would really come in handy!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! My best friend had it all through both of her pregnancies and I was so sad for her. She did find some type of online association/ forums, and it really helped her to connect with other moms who were going through the same thing. Hope there's a tiny bit of relief in sight for you.
