Date-aversary

That is what we call the anniversary of our first date. Yesterday we celebrated 5 years as a couple. We had dinner at the small Greek place where we had our first 'date' if you call it that. We were quite nontraditional in the fact that within a week of knowing each other we were already living together. I know, our parents thought we were crazy.

We always knew we wanted to wait at least a little while before having children. We thought it would be best to spend sometime just being a couple, finishing school, establishing our careers, buying a home, etc. I often wonder what we would have done differently had we known we would have such a difficult time. I think I would have wanted DH to take the bar in Illinois and had us look for jobs in Chicago, knowing that would mean IF coverage for us. We still think about moving south of the border...

I'm sure there are other things we would have done differently, but one thing I know would be the same, is that regardless of this, I still would have chosen DH on that cold November night:)

That's really sweet that you celebrated your date-aversary. We celebrate that too. It says so much that the one thing you know would be the same is your DH. :) You two are such a great couple.

That is sooo sweet that you went to the same restaurant as your first date. Enjoy the rest of your day.

You're too cute! I love the date-aversary. I always think about moving to someplace that would cover treatment. Last month, I was trying to talk C. into moving to Ohio. It would just make everything soooo much easier!

we should all celebrate date-aversaries and remember the first day that you got together!!

And don't forget that hindsight is always 20/20 - if only we knew then what we know now!!

Congrats to five years! That's so exciting! So, tell the truth...is an HSG that bad? I'm totally freaked out and it's in my near future. Any advice?

My hubby and I moved quickly too - we were living together shortly after we met. What can I say? When you know, you know. Well, Happy Date-aversary. I hope you found a great way to celebrate!

BTW - just found your blog through ICLW - and I'm a fan!

DH and my date-aversary is coming up next week too! It's good to know you'd still choose him--as I would still choose mine--even with all of the struggles. Here from ICLW.

Awwww-we have several "anniversaries" as well. The anniversary of when we met, the anniversary of our first offical date, our wedding anniversary.
It's important to remember those special days.

Happy Date-aversary! That's really sweet that you went back to the place you had your first date. I may have to steal that idea when my 6th date-aversary rolls around in February.
