It definitely pours. Our poor little furry baby Fiona has been sick for months. We have taken her to the vet more than a half dozen times with always the same answer of 'we are not sure what it is, let's try antibiotics.' We just finished her 3rd round of them in 6 months and she is still not well. Her back end shakes all the time, her front joints are visibly swollen, she is in constant pain and squeals when you pick her up, she is losing weight and is not social at all.
I took her, yet again, to the vet this past Friday and they ran a bunch of tests. They thought she had an autoimmune disease like arthritis, but the only thing the tests show is that her proteins are high, which means that she might have a really bad infection that will take strong meds to fix, lesions on her heart, or cancer:( I am so sad. She goes back on Friday for more tests.
I feel even worse b/c I am starting to stress about the costs of the vet, and how it is severely dipping into our baby fund. I am a terrible puppy mommy to even think that:( She is like our child and I would do anything to make her feel better and cannot believe the thought of money even crosses my mind...but it does.
What a crap week...HSG to start the week, shitty people at work talking behind my back, no positive OPK which makes me think I missed my O this month, and the worst, a sick dog.

sorry to hear about Fiona and the rest of your bad week.
poor sick pup.:(
good luck with the tests friday.
i hope your week gets better!!
Sorry about Fiona, hopefully they figure out what is wrong and it doesn't cost too much. You are NOT a bad puppy Mom. I love my puppy to pieces and would do anything for him, but would still worry about the money. We spent over $2K on our cat, I just had too... and of course I worried about the baby fund, but somehow it all works out.
I am de-lurking to say stress sucks, trying to get pregnant and failing miserably sucks, feeling guilty about everything sucks, going to work when everything sucks sucks and having a sick dog sucks a lot.
I have two really cool dogs, one with mast cell tumors - a form of cancer - and an old cat that throws up on everything. I think we spent about $2,000 on vet bills this year - so I hear you but these amazing animals have made the things that suck much better for me.
Check out my blog if you want to hear about my IVF history.
Good luck.
