Why are platitudes the first thing people think to say to someone dealing with infertility?
"Things happen for a reason." -So, you are telling me there is a reason I cannot have a biological child with my husband? Really? What might that reason be? Can you tell me? Because I would really like to know.
"Enjoy your time without children! We wish we had more free time." -Easy for you to say with your two beautifully grass-stained children who drew those pictures for your office door. Don't you realize we would give anything for those chaos filled weekends of soccer games and piano lessons?
"At least you are young." -Yes, we are young, and chose to try to become parents at a young age. But does this mean that our fertility is not as important as someone's who began trying later in life?
"Who knows what they can do with technology these days!" -Do you know what 'technology these days' costs? Let me tell you...a freaking bank load! And no, our insurance does not cover a penny.
