Much needed updates

Hello blogworld:)

Isn't it amazing how quickly life flies past you when you have two babies, work fulltime, and try to keep up with your household? It seems like just yesterday I was heading back to work, the babies were tiny, and we were still worried about them catching up. I am happy to say that at almost one year old they are both over 20 lbs, have tons of teeth, and are terrorizing our house. Elijah is nearly walking!

We had our follow-up visit to the eye doctor for Elijah. Right now we are trying glasses and hoping to avoid another surgery. We will know at the end of February if another one is needed. But isn't my boy so cute in his glasses? He doesn't like them, though. We struggle to keep them on him an hour a day. I worry all the time that he will need another surgery just b/c we can't force him to wear his glasses. Other than his eyes, Elijah is a perfect little boy. And what a boy he is! We call him "Elijah Smash" since everything he picks up gets smashed against the nearest hard surface. He has taken to climbing on the furniture and pulling his sister's hair. He is always quick with a smile and a wave and loves to 'dance'.

Hazel's reflux is much better, but as we've started the transition to cow's milk we've had some problems. But other than that she is also perfect. She has a head full of hair, a toothy grin, and is a very serious child. She watches everyone and has started pointing her little finger at everything. She loves to hear you tell her what everything is. That finger never stops pointing! Even in the middle of the night its going. She loves her animal books and has starting giving kisses. She loves her brother, especially when he pushes her on their little truck.

Sleep is still quite a challenge in our house. We are not planning on doing sleep training, and are not comfortable with the Cry it Out method. Each baby gets up at least 3 times a night, last night being just horrible. I think I got a total of 4 hours of sleep, with not more than an hour and a half at one time.

Greg is moving forward with trying to find a job, but at this point he is still a stay-at-home Dad and I am working fulltime. We are putting our house on the market in hopes of decreases our costs so that when he does get a job I can stay home with the beans.

I also wanted to say thanks to all of you who are still reading....even with my very long breaks between posts:)

Adorable babies! I love the glasses. My brother had glasses as a baby and I think my mom said the hardest time to keep them on him was around this age. I think by 18 months it was a lot easier. Good luck!

Thanks for the update! Wow- they look so big! I can't get enough of those huge baby blues and adorable curls. I don't know how you do it with that many frequent nightwakings and working fulltime. I was at my wit's end with 1 or 2 up until 9 months with working full time.
