YAWN

We had our first bad night. Both babies cried (at different times) all night along. Elijah's tummy is still really bothering him and Hazel was just being a grump. I think they might be going through a growth spurt b/c they are now eating every 2.5-3 hrs and eating more. This has left us w/o any sleep.

Part of my problem is that while we have moved them to their own room I still have the monitor next to my head and wake at every noise. Every grunt, snort, squawk, fart, hiccup and whine. Between the two of them I only sleep for about 15 mins in a row for most of the night. This morning I realized I slept nearly 3 hrs straight and when I went to check on them noticed that I some how threw a blanket over the monitor. Oops, good thing nothing happened.

With a night like that I am starting to get anxious about Greg going back to work and being home alone all day with both of them. And of course when he needs to get up for work its means I'll have more night duty, and even less sleep. I now understand why mom's of twins always say the first few months are just survival. It gets better, right? :)

I am right there with you! My girls wake up every 2-3 hours and are now eating 3.5 oz at a time. Growth spurt for sure.

Hang in there!

do you have a video monitor? that way you could just peek at them at every noise, rather than get up. just an idea.

just breathe. it WILL get better.

I'm so happy that your twins have finally arrived! You've made it to the other side- YAY! I can't even imagine how difficult it is to care for two young babies at the same time, but I'm sure that once they're able to interact, smile and play with you, it will make all your rough nights and days as a new mum all worth while! Congratulations once agani!

Oh, I am sorry. :( It's a learning process, and I'm glad that I get to learn from your experiences. Some days (nights) will be better than others, I'm sure. Hang in there!

BUT I am so thrilled that both of your babies are home! Words cannot convey how happy I am for you!

((hugs)) Those sleepless nights are brutal, but they do get better. Hopefully they will be in a nice sleeping pattern soon...a sleeping pattern that BOTH babies will follow together. Hang in there!
