Baby Hiccups

These two have had the hiccups so much the past two weeks. I don't know if it is just that I have more time to notice it, or if it has anything to do with the steroid shots maturing their lungs, but holy hiccups! One of them has hiccups at least every other hour. I spend a portion of my day with my hand on my belly smiling at the rhythmic thumping. When people are here visiting I find it difficult to fully concentrate on what they are saying if there are hiccup-y babies.

Other than moving babies not much is new today. Everything is still stable, the nurse last night was particularly bad with waking me up even more frequently, and I still got a wishy-washy answer from my OB about what our plans are. The only thing he said that was definite is that we will not do anything different until I see the peri next week. I am still hoping to see the NICU, maybe on Friday when Greg has off work. The dogs have been cleared and are most likely coming for an official visit tomorrow night.

On not so happy news, my grandma is doing worse. If you remember she lives in Washington state and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Before she has surgery she decided to go ahead with a visit she had planned here. She came early December and was able to attend one of our babies shower. Earlier this week she was so sick she was hospitalized and had a blood transfusion. They don't really know what is wrong and are not sure how long she will be in the hospital. She is supposed to fly back to WA next week. I am very worried that I will not see her again and am going to talk to my OB about letting me leave for an afternoon this weekend to see her. It would be devastating to me if she left without us seeing her at least once more. Once the babies come I won't be able to travel for awhile and no one knows how much longer she has. The earliest I think we could feasibly travel there would be next fall. So, I hope my OB is okay with letting me out for a few hours. I talked to the nurse about it and she said they often let people leave for similar situations.

So, day 13 is nearing a close and our next goal is just a day away. 2010 babies here we come:)

Interesting theory about the hiccups... I did notice hiccups after the steriod shots; and I never noticed them before. I'm glad that nothing very eventful is happening for you with the babies, because that means they are doing great IN you still. I hope your dogs are able to lift your cabin fever a bit. You are definitely going to meet your 2010 goal! Keep hanging in there!

I'll be keeping your grandma in my thoughts.

I always loved the baby hiccups too. I hope you'll be able to see your dogs soon, it should give you a lift that you most certainly need. Keep on going, it's almost 2010.

I will also be keeping your grandmother in my thoughts. I hope you'll be able to arrange a visit somehow.

I think one of mine had the hiccups once. I wasn't sure what it was a t first, but that's all I could think of since it was so rhythmic.

I'm so sorry to hear of your grandma. I hope and pray she gets well and that you get to see her this week.

Enjoy your visit with your pups and HOORAY for 2010 babies!! :)

our twins had hiccups from about 14w on... that I could feel. Maybe they had them before then... Funny thing is, they still have them! All the time!
