Yay! We made it! 24 weeks:) It is like a huge weight of worry is gone. I know, this day by no means puts us out of the woods if the babies were to come, but at least they have a chance.
Every time I've gone into L&D they have said over and over, it's too early, we can't do anything until 24 weeks, they are not viable and will not make it. Those words have haunted me and I am so happy that today is finally here.
We are going to celebrate by going baby shopping and finishing our registry. I can't believe we have made it this far without stepping a foot in a baby store and buying something. I did order a few things online (cloth diaper covers and baby books), and we have gotten a few gifts (hand knit booties and blankets, some clothes, a few toys) and our house is now overflowing with hand-me-downs (cribs, swing, bouncer, clothes), but Greg and I haven't allowed ourselves to be those excited parents-to-be in public. Today that will be a different story.
So, happy viability day Baby Boy and Baby Girl:) Now just stay put for at least 8 weeks, but we would be forever grateful if we had to kick you out in about 13.5 weeks.

Who hoo! This wonderful news!! I'm so happy for you and the DH, you've been through so much--I'm so glad you've gotten lucky this time. I know what you mean by never feeling like you can get excited, you don't want to get your hopes up. Well now you can go to town! Congrats, sending prayers for a full term and healthy pregnancy. :-)

A HUGE congratulations on making it to 24 weeks. I was the exact same way as you were - I was so focussed on making it to at least viability...and every day past that is one less day in the NICU!
