They ran a bunch of tests and checked my cervix (which was high and closed as it should be) and we still kind of stumped as to why I was having so many issues. They sent me home and told me to drink lots of water, etc. It didn't work.
Yesterday the pain hit. I've passed two previous kidney stones so knew right away what it was. Ohmygawd was I in pain. Since I wasn't sure if it would harm the babies I called my OB, who had me come in just to be sure it wasn't some form of labor. Thank god, it was not. But man did the tears start when I thought just maybe it could be and we were going to lose them. But that could be another post of its own (let alone how they kept telling me at L&D that if anything did happen they couldn't do anything b/c the babies are not yet 'viable).
I ended up being admitted to the hospital overnight and just got home. They were able to give me pain meds, but not the good ones b/c those are harmful to the babies. I vomited so much from the pain that I have broken nearly all of the blood vessels in my face, I look rough. But, the stone has passed into my bladder and the babies are fine. Now Greg and I just need to get some rest, him especially. Poor guy, having to deal with me crying in pain all day and could do nothing about it.
Before all this craziness started (or while I thought I just had a bad bladder infection) we went to Chicago to meet up with some nesties. We had a great time and were glad to be able to have lunch with them.
One of them is also a professional photographer, while we were there we did a photo shoot with her (she is great!) at Union Station, here are a few pics, the first is of us, then a few 18 week belly shots. Enjoy!
