Okay, I feel like this blog is turning into my personal check list for IVF, sorry:) The mock ET was quick and easy, just like an IUI, but not nearly as painful as a few I have had.
Next step -injection lesson. I am so not looking forward to it. DH seems to get some kind of cheap thrill at the thought of sticking me with needles. The feeling is not mutual, unless of course I got to stick him with the PIO shot.
Since I haven't mentioned my awful co-irkers lately I think it is time for an update.....they are TERRIBLE!!!! I am not telling anyone at work (except for my boss) about IVF, but I am having a difficult time explaining away all of the 'appointments' and keep getting questions. loudly. in the hallway. about whether I was at the FERTILITY DOCTOR. At least last week I got to reply with 'no, I just had a pap smear, but thanks for asking.' That shut them up for a few days.
8 weeks, that is all. After that they can kiss my ass. But until then I am not going to let them bother me. It is so not worth it.

Good luck with the PIO injections, those seriously scare me.
My coworkers have been great with all my absences, it's my husband's partner who has been a jerk. Every time I show up to pick up my husband for one of our appointments, he makes a comment about how his tax money is being used really well (b/c I work for the state). Um yeah, like I WANT to use up all my vacation for doctor's appointments. And he doesn't even know why we're going to the doctor - for all he knows, I could have cancer. What a nice guy.
You'd think people would have more sensitivity.
It is none of their business. I agree not telling anyone but ur boss. Dont worry with the injections, u will be fine
I am glad the mock transfer went well. Abt the needles, PIO is the only one that might seem scary, the others are really not that bad.
Nosy co-workers = no fun! I glad you are strong abt not letting them get to you.
I'm assuming the PIO shots are the big ass, progesterone in oil, needles. Here's the MOST IMPORTANT PART: Make sure your IVF nurse coordinator orders you a "lidocaine and prilocaine" cream. It will numb your butt all the way through the muscle. You won't feel ANYTHING!!! A friend of mine also went through IVF, her nurse never ordered the stuff, and she suffered for the first 12 weeks of her pregnancy. If your insurance doesn't cover it, do what you can to pay for it. I have extra, unopened tubes, and will mail it to you. :) Best wishes. The shots aren't bad, I promise!
My husband loves the shots. Probably because he isn't the one getting them. I just close my eyes, and it's over before I know it.
I'm glad you shut your coworkers up. Bunch of fertile bullies.
I didn't tell anyone either. I just kept saying that I had a doctors appt and if people got nosy I said it was female stuff, or just said it was personal. One time I got snide and said "you know that's a really personal question and if I knew you better I might answer it". Congrats on the smooth mock egg retrieval.
oh girl. what is with the coworkers? you should make up some sort of a story about how you are getting a sex change or something.
...wonder how many of them would try to ask questions about that in the open?
