I have survived

2 Lupron shots down and I am still alive! :)

Since our IVF nurse said they want us to do the Lupron in the morning it ends up being at like 6am before DH leaves for work. Which meant that on Friday morning (first shot morning) I was up at 4 am thinking about the shot....I barely slept and when DH's alarm went off I started to freak out a bit. When he came in the room with the shot I think I just starting rambling about how I wasn't ready yet and to please not do it. But after a minute and some deep breathing that was almost hyperventilating, he stuck me and I started laughing. Srsly, laughing. I do that sometimes when I get all worked up. It can be very inappropriate in some situations.

In all reality, it wasn't that bad. I think we have a good system in place, he wakes me up, rubs a little numbing cream on the spot, goes and preps the shot, comes back, I sit up, belly fat pinched and then we are done. But the best part of it is that since I am still half asleep I don't have contacts in, and don't put my glasses on, I can't see a damn thing. I haven't seen the needle yet, and I think it helps.

good job to you and DH with the shots! we have not reached that point yet in our journey, but who knows what the next months will bring? hoping this is your BFP cycle!

I really think the first shot is the hardest.

I'm glad that it wasn't that bad. Good luck on your cycle!

Good job. I watch the E! channel while my husband gives me my shots. It distracts me.

that's a great strategy. :) i am nervous about my husband doing my trigger and progesterone shots. i'm fine with giving myself the shots since i have to give myself a shot for arthritis every week, but i'm just really nervous about him doing it, mainly because he's never done it before and doesn't want to hurt me. heh.

My DH always gives me the Lupron shots in the side of my upper leg. Not so many nerve endings there, less painful than the stomach. You may want to ask if you can inject there.
I'm happy for you that the first shot is over. Anticipation can suck!

yay, you are doing awesome!!

that is very smart to do it while youre still sleepy. your body is probably still so relaxed.

Congrats! My first shots were super-scary, and I was amazed at how easy they turned out to be. I'm still terrified of having to do an intra-muscular injection, though. Best of luck to you!

Woohoo!!! Like everyone said, the first couple of shots ARE really the worst. I promise.. :)
