So, a few of you have asked about what the Medrol & Tetracycline after ET (which should have been after ER, I think) are for. Our IVF nurse said the Tetracycline was to make sure there wasn't any kind of infection due to the ER, and the Medrol was to help with implantation and to be sure the embryos aren't rejected (I think...it might also have to do with the fact we are doing ICSI, I don't remember for sure).
And I was able to get a prescription for a topical numbing cream, so thank you for that suggestion!
I got a + OPK yesterday, which means Lupron begins on Friday....the count down has begun.

Yay! You're SO close! Fingers crossed for you!
Do you know when you might be transferring ,approximately? Mine is set for february 28th, approximately.I think using those two meds is pretty much protocol as I have to take tetracycline and medrol too except that I am doing a frozen donor embryo transfer.I know the wait after is gonna go by so slow and drive me crazy. Are you getting excited yet?
woo hoo! I start lupron tomorrow. Here we go!
This is all going so fast!
So....how hard was it to get the loan at the bank? IVF might be coming a knockin' soon......
omg! i'm so excited that you are starting :)
i did doxycycline and medrol from the time of the ER until the ET. apparently some clinics don't do it. it might just be voodoo. who cares. :) if it helps you get any steps closer...
OOhhhh...thinking about you!
Good luck!!!!
Ahh... the exciting phase of the cycle! Love it!
I just did doxycyclene instead of the tetracyclene. Didn't take Medrol. Wow... if its supposed to help with implantation, I have to ask my RE abt it. Thanks for the tip.
I did medrol so I did some reading on it and my understanding is that ICSI and/or assisted hatching alters the embryo sometimes causing the body to reject it. The medrol helps to prevent that rejection, thus helping with implantation
