Aren't I just the lucky one?

The nurse from the RE's office just called. Apparently the results came back from the cultures they took last month and it came back positive for bacteria. They say it is fairly common, but since the HSG and the IUI require a catheter be inserted into the uterus and bacteria might get in and cause an infection both DH and I have to take antibiotics for the next two weeks.

In any other situation that would be fine, except that I will still be on the meds when I ovulate this month and they might not be able to go forward with the IUI this month. Also, the HSG will be postponed until they give me the call clear.

I am bummed about this. I was really excited that we got to move forward so soon, but of course, our plans always change. Let the waiting game begin again.

P.S. still no AF, still no caffeine (the headache is pretty much gone!)

Is it ureaplasma? I have heard that once you are treated if you have this it is al you need to get rid of to get pregnant. I have asked my RE about it and I think I was tested back in MAY not sure, but I plan to ask again at my next appt.

Sorry you will be missing out on the IUI this month, you can still have sex instead right??

I tested positive for bacteria a couple of months ago....but only I had to take antibiotics. I asked the doctor if hubby should take them too, but she said no.

Now I'm worried that I might get it again since he didn't take antibiotics.
